This vintage strawberry frost gets its signature texture from an unexpected two-step blending technique. First, the ingredients are blended together and frozen until firm. Then, the frozen mixture is broken into chunks and beaten with a hand mixer, creating an airy strawberry sorbet with just a hint of orange liqueur.
Ingredients
3cupsfresh strawberries (1lb.)
1cupsugar
3/4cuporange juice
3Tbsp.lemon juice
3Tbsp.orange liqueur
Directions
In blender container place half of the strawberries and all the remaining ingredients. Cover; blend till smooth. Add the remaining strawberries; blend again till smooth.
Pour into 1 1/2 qt. glass dish or storage container; cover and freeze about 2 hours or till partially firm. Break strawberry mixture into chunks; place in mixer bowl. Beat with electric mixer till smooth.
Return mixture to dish; cover and freeze several hours or overnight. To serve, stir to break up frozen mixture.
