Cherry Yum Yum is a layered no-bake dessert that’s a delicious combination of cheesecake-like cream and cherry pie filling. Layer them into a graham cracker crust and finish with additional graham cracker crumbs on top. Chill the dessert for at least four hours (though it’s even more delicious the next day), and slice into squares. It’s a retro dessert that’s just as delicious as it is easy.
Ingredients
2 1/2cupsgraham cracker crumbs
1cupbutter, melted
2 (8-oz.) pkg.cream cheese, softened
3/4cuppowdered sugar
3cupsheavy cream
1tsp.vanilla extract
1/4tsp.almond extract (optional)
2 (21-oz.) canscherry pie filling
Directions
In the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish combine graham cracker crumbs and butter, reserve 1/2 cup of the mixture. Gently pat down crumbs until a crust forms.
In a large bowl beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until fluffy. Add heavy cream in two or three intervals while beating on high. Continue to beat until stiff peaks form. Stir in vanilla and almond extract if using. Layer half of the cream mixture on the crust, top evenly with the cherry pie filling. Spread evenly remaining cream mixture. Top with reserved 1/2 cup graham cracker mixture. Chill 4 hours to overnight.
